Hideki Tojo was born in Kojimachi District Tokyo, Japan to the Japanese Army infantry Lieutenant Hidenori Tojo on December 30, 1884.
After graduating from the Imperial Military Academy and the Military Staff College, Tojo was sent to Berlin as Japan’s military attache after World War I.

In five years Hideki Tojo is promoted to rank of Major. (1920)
In four years he is promoted to Lieutenant-colonel. (1924)
In another four years he is promoted to Full Colonel. (1928)
In one year he becomes the commander of the 1st infantry Regiment in Tokyo.

In five years becomes the commander of the 24th Infantry Brigade.
Then becomes Kwantung Army's Chief of staff in 1937. Tojo's first combat experience was later this year when he led two brigades on operations in inner Mongolia.
