Soli Jehangir Sorabjee, AM (9 March 30 April ) was an Indian jurist who served as Attorney-General for India from to , and again from to In , he received the Padma Vibhushan for his defence of the freedom of expression and the protection of human rights.[1][2]
Early life
Soli Jehangir Sorabjee was born on 9 March in Bombay to a Parsi family.[3][4] He studied at Bharda New High School, Mumbai and St.
Xavier's College, Mumbai and Government Law College, Mumbai, and was admitted to the bar in [5] At Government Law College, he was awarded the Kinloch Forbes Gold Medal in Roman Law and Jurisprudence ().[6]
Career
